The program of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2010 included discussions and speeches, but also food fests, exhibitions and entertainment evenings. Nearly 2000 delegates from all over the world took part in the event.
Did Coimbatore have any representation at the PBD? Yes .How can the Cotton City/the city of Entrepreneurs/the second largest city stay in TN stay away from such an important event. Were the reps from CII? CMA? Or CODISSIA? NO. The representatives were four young budding managers from Sri Venkateswara Group of Institutions’ Ettmadai, Coimbatore! A thorough screening process was held to select the best four out, two each from the first and second year. These students had a chance to interact with the top dignitaries of the country and a handful of NRI. To drive home the point from the book “Secrets by Ms Rhonda Byrne “Thoughts become Things “they all flew one way and returned by train. Undoubtedly they must be chosen few among the student community in the entire country who had the privilege of sharing their views and thoughts with the most eminent personalities at PBD. The registration fee of Rs 5000/-each and other expense were sponsored by the management. This is one of the several of CII/CMA/CODISSIA programmes sponsored by the management for grooming the students.
