Mr. C. Ramakrishnan a leading personality with 37 years of experience, in the field of Management addressed students on the topic “EMERGING TRENDS IN MANAGEMNT”. He emphasized on the need to be abreast with latest developments in the field of management. The concepts, ideas and policies undergo regular changes and are dictated by the global and business environment. The global financial crisis has proved it beyond doubt. Many of the industries especially the IT bore the brunt of it. The Board of Directors in many of corporate houses resorted to lay off, retrenchment and few had the regulars on the benches .Innovation is the need of the hour. While some are determined with the adage that “Old is Gold” and crave for experienced staff, while many of them feel that Generation Y is the need of the hour who are highly energetic, demanding, and innovative with result oriented approaches.
The financial sector is constantly introducing new ideas and methods. The Government like never before customize the monetary and fiscal policies and provided the necessary stimuli for the industries and venture capitalists to remain afloat during the crisis. The Speaker also stressed on the need for interlinking of the rivers and made a passing remark on his paper title Ganga- Cauvery Project which was shelved by the Government on political grounds.
Over all it was an interesting and interactive lecture.
