Education is continuous process, especially in MBA where you have to integrate the classroom theory with outdoor activities. All CEOs unanimously are of the opinion that it is the set of applied skills that a student acquires during his two years in the management program that help him in the corporate world. As an ongoing process of skill development ,a one week program was organized for all First years. To ensure that the students take full advantage of the program, all the students were compulsorily accommodated in the college hostel.
An integrated placement training program was conducted by Astron Academy of Fundamental Learning, Bangalore in Sri Venkateswara Campus. The team comprised of four trainers, headed by Cdr. Vinod Gopalan, former, Controller of Examinations, Anna University. The other experts were:

The aims of the programme were to enable realization of following skills in a student to enhance his/her chances of success in placement interviews/selection in process.
1. Ability of ingenious Application of Theoretical knowledge at work.
2. Cultivation of high degree of soft skills: Think, Talk & Act on one’s feet.
3. Building up of individual self confidence, reliable team work & sensitive leadership.
The Method of realizing the aims is by means of a multi pronged training strategy fitted into an activity over a five and half period. The routine for the day consisted of the following modules:
PT/OT : Physical training/Obstacle Training
T.A.T : Technical Aptitude Training knowledge
S.S & P.A.T : Soft skill and Professional Aptitude Training
G.K : General Knowledge
C.S : Communication Skills
Around 100 students attended the program me and the whole set of students were divided into 2 big groups and each of which groups were divided into 10 sub groups ,each consisting of 5 to 6 students. The other components of the program me were Interviews, Extempore talks, Group discussions, prepared talks debates etc. Each session was conducted by a suitable expert who coached the students in improving the quality of those components.
The training and co-generative evaluation of every student were qualitatively and quantitatively observed, recorded and analyzed. Each student was assessed separately at team work and in individual activity .The individual’s leadership quality, team spirit, initiative and a host of their personality traits were assessed on a one to one basis. Essential part of the program was recorded and screened to the students which enabled them to take corrective measures. The crowning moment came when at the end of programme, a student, who would previous barely open his mouth in regular classes came up to speak extempore for 5 minutes in front of a large audience, to summarize his learning experiences through the programme, and also to record his appreciation for the programme.
All good things have to come to and end and so did this camp with a grand finale of Camp Fire.
All the staff and the students thank the Cdr Vinod Gopalan and his team for the wonderful and continuous inputs and of course our Chairman Cdr K Velu for his innovative ideas and Mrs. Meghla Velu, the Secretary for her unflinching support.
