Very few students get such opportunity for rest and recoupment in a hill stations. Even during rest and recoupment learning is a must at Sri Venkateswara…… What do you learn in the mountains? 20 students were sponsored by the management to attend an adventure camp at National Adventure and Leadership School.
The aim was to inculcate a spirit of adventure, leadership qualities, and mental robustness team spirit and bonding by venturing in outdoor activities like rock climbing, trekking and extensive obstacle training.
20 of our students were yet again sponsored by the management for an adventure camp in the hills of Coonoor.It requires the right type of buddy to face the onslaught and the vagaries of nature in any adventure camp. The students were permitted any buddy of their choice if necessary from other educational institutions and a few of them did choose colleagues from other colleges who too were sponsored by our management.
It is the attitude that determines the altitude, that’s what rock climbing, imbibes in you, the very basic principal of management. When the going gets tough the tough gets going another adage which drive homes the point in trekking. It is absolutely essential to take calculated risk in life, and that’s what the rope bridge is about. The need for reaching the top is important but it is more important to remain there and this can be achieved only with the support of the team members. Espirit -de Corps which is the hall mark of any organization for its growth, and an essential leadership trait for MBA graduates were the management principles that were reinforced at the adventure camp.
